From MBA Graduate to Skincare Visionary: The Birth of Iris Dahlia Apothecary

When I first enrolled in my MBA program, I had no idea that it would eventually lead to the creation of Iris Dahlia Apothecary. It all began during a marketing class in August 2024. I had been handcrafting bath bombs, skincare products, and herbal remedies for personal use for a few years. Friends and family would often tell me, “You should sell these!” but I always brushed it off as a hobby.

That changed during that marketing class. It was like a light bulb went off—I started thinking about the possibility of turning my passion into a business. The wheels began turning, and by the end of the term, I decided, “I am going to sell bath bombs.” That single decision set off a cascade of planning, learning, and dreaming. By the time I graduated, Iris Dahlia Apothecary was no longer just an idea; it was becoming a reality.

Just three weeks ago, I proudly walked across the stage to receive my MBA. It was a significant milestone, but also just the beginning. Throughout my MBA journey, I was not only learning about business but actively building Iris Dahlia Apothecary along the way. My mom has always joked that I’m a career student, and honestly, she’s not wrong. I thrive on learning and growing. The venture into skincare only deepened my desire to understand the intricacies of formulation and product development. I wanted to not only create beautiful products but also ensure they were effective, safe, and nourishing for the skin.

Now, with my MBA complete, I am embarking on the next phase of my journey—obtaining a certification in skincare science, formulation, and product development. I want to take what I’ve learned so far and build on it—to create even better products for my customers. My goal is not just to make bath bombs or skincare products but to craft experiences that bring joy, relaxation, and a bit of magic into everyday life.

The journey from MBA to Apothecary founder has been one of discovery, learning, and endless creativity. I’m excited to continue this path, expanding my knowledge, improving my products, and sharing my passion with all of you.
